In a press release issued by Ducati today, company CEO, Claudio Domenicali announced that “No less than nine new models, including the just-unveiled Monster 1200 R, will be joining the 2016 range.” These nine models will be introduced to the public during EICMA 2015.
Domenicali also announced two of these new models will bring Ducati into segments the company currently doesn’t occupy. The move is an effort to extend the Ducati brand to a new group of motorcyclists who had previously not been catered to.
As to what the nine new models will be, we already know one of them is the Monster 1200 R. After that, however, our best guesses are an R-version of the 899 Panigale, a new Scrambler variant or two, and an update (or replacement) for the Streetfighter and Diavel. Then of course there are the two new segments for Ducati – possibly something more adventure-oriented than the Multistrada, or a more beginner-friendly motorcycle to bring new riders into the Ducati fold even earlier.
In other news, Ducati also reported that, within the first six months of 2015 the company experienced a 22% growth, with 32,600 bike delivered. This puts Ducati on track to break 50,000 bikes sold this year – the first time it has ever happened in the company’s history.
Stay tuned for more information on the new models as we get it.Share:
